We about to head into that time of the year where they begin to appear, only you may not know until you know if you aren\'t looking at things right.
Runners who have been on the track training, racing, and working for 6-7 solid months already this season. Are in the 5-6 start range. Come off a few really hard efforts. This alone can produce a lot of wear and tear, fatigue or even disinterest. Runners who are heavily bet or even solidly bet are ones to be looking to play against.
Case in point last year. Close Hatches, produced one of her better races in the Personal Ensign, was off the board in the Spinster and dead last in the BC Distaff.
Moreno and Coach Inge both give me that look tomorrow. Moreno may have already folded his tent but has a good Saratoga resume. Both of them offer decent odds if you are still a believer. Generally the one to look for are the ones where the expectations by the betting public are higher. Therefore the rewards for betting against and winning are higher...
Timeform US reports that Pletcher announced he is likely to scratch Coach Inge. Maybe Pletcher agrees with you.
He said it before race 6 talking to Lo Duca too
Well I\'m at work so there was no insight other than he got real good and ran his eye balls out three races in a row. And 2 of them were game duels in the stretch.
Wesley Ward said something earlier this year that was educating. He kept a few of his horses like Judy the Beauty, Undrafted at Keeneland for their winter/spring training even though he was stabled at Gulfstream. It was less stressful on them he felt and they weren\'t going to race there anyway. He mentioned he didn\'t want them at Gulfstream with all the commotion of a live meet going on and all the serious training.
That\'s the time of year we are heading towards. Pletcher for one has had more than a few here in the last 5 years who have nearly refused to leave the gate. Stop Traffic who either won this race or the Woodward was one. The Breeders Cup Distaff mare was another. And I\'m not talking about Princess of Salymar...
Moreno does like the spa and never ran out of the $ at the distance.
His #s last year at Saratoga are very respectful.
I like him a bit at 12-1.
He is the honest type, up 7 pounds from last year\'s Whitney and other speed will hurt his chances though. 12-1 seems right for the risk if you think he will pop up here.
Horse that may pop is VE Day.
Tough race my pick though is the \"Bird\"
Good luck to all
