Title: Don't blame the weatherman
Post by: FrankD. on July 25, 2015, 03:42:43 AM
A beautiful 75 degree day without humidity, the park was packed with eager patrons, a weather forecast of merely a slight chance of scattered showers. It happened out of the blue the skies darkened, the wind picked up, all the phones started going off with weather app alerts, a tornado warning for the Saratoga area. The horses for the 5th race went back to the paddock, the picnic table and lawn chair crowd started to run for cover.

After reading my own weather alert I noticed I had received a text message from Richiebee. It was obvious the weather Gods and guardian angels of Saratoga had reacted to the news. Richie had just sent me a message saying instead of coming up over 2 weekends he had found a reasonable room downtown within walking distance of the bars and would be here from July 31- August 8 straight through.

The Gods calmed, adjusted to the news it sprinkled a little and the horses came out to the run the 5th race with a 55/1 shot going wire to wire!

Frank:

I would have thought you would be more impressed by the photo I texted you from
opening day at Aquetoga.

I tweaked the schedule a bit to enjoy some weekday racing, maybe a night with the
jugheads at my favorite harness track. Might cheat and play a practice round
before the TG Open. A couple of nights barside muttering at the Mets telecasts
definitely a possibility.

Looks like a good card today, good luck to all. Will be watching with curiosity
to see if Bayern can return to form out west.

Since richiebee attemtped to provide a confession, I must tell everyone the rest of the story.  The practice rounds and the post telling of his attempt to sharpen his game is all a ruse.

My understanding is that he has a Patin-type plan to take down the TGenerate Open in a monetary fasion.  He intends on trailing early until about hole 14 when he will start unleashing the birdies only to come up a bit short to make it look close.  Meanwhile, an agent of his will be betting on the two other likeliest winners at the Saratoga Betting Exchange at inflated odds after the initial info he is posting indicates richiebee should be the odds on fav.  Best of luck.

Fairmount:

You are wildly overrating my game; my only chance of outfinishing this field
would be if the Open were played under handicap conditions.

I might insist that we draw blood and/or urine from Sean if he even pairs up last
years stellar performance.

Speaking of the Patin brothers, they are on Ken Ramsey\'s speed dial in case the
Ortiz brothers don\'t get it right in the Diana today.

I\'ll be down there next weekend.

Taking a shot with the #7 here.

Glad you find me so unique.

I\'m watching 700 tracks at a time, finding time to post before the race can be a challenge.
