Title: Fixed race at Evangeline
Post by: Deadrockstar on July 23, 2015, 10:38:14 AM
Hey TGJB --

You may need a special notation for horses ridden by the Patin brothers. Even as they and their co-conspirator stiffed 3 horses by 17 lengths or more in a 6-horse field they botched fixing the race.

I watched that race when it was first reported a few weeks ago. Total circus. Marx brothers material.

The buzzer thing is harder to see, not sure how they are detecting that.

Billy Patin was the jock who used an electrical device to win the Arkansas Derby once on a 30-1 horse named Valhol.  Guess old habits are hard to break.

I remember playing Valhol off the sheets. The maiden race was an 8 if memory serves. Had good timing and a jump up seemed inevitable. Little did I know, he jumped out of his skin like a dragster down the stretch.

More like a roller coaster elation then depression then confusion. I didn\'t know what buzzers were.

En Semp Pas Tis! or something like that. Translation track may not be on the up and up. Actually amazing any law down there probably a family feud.

The head on of the stretch run is pure comedy, one jock drops the whip, loses an iron and pulls his horse up, another was doing all he could to keep his horse out of the trifecta and it still got up by a nose for 3rd when a non-fixed runner just stops.   That jock probably made a \"note to self\" after the race noting that if you are going to fix a race make sure the horses still \"competing\" can stand up.

fwiw, two of the three stiffed horses came back a week later, with different riders, to run 1-2.  The Patin clan probably cashed more on that race than the one they tried to fix.

What do these MORONS consider a score? It was a 6 horse field with a total triple pool of $16,900 minus the take out there is $12,600 and change left to chop up 3 ways if they had the whole pool which is doubtful.
BRILLIANT!!!

For some reason the words \"Fixed Race at Evangeline\" sound something like
\"Crowded Subway at Rush Hour\". What, we\'re supposed to be surprised?

No one has accused any participant in this escapade of being a member of the high IQ Club, past or present.

These guys are pond scum.  I usually try to avoid that circuit, head similar stories of LAD as well.
