Title: Crist Interview
Post by: Chuckles_the_Clown2 on April 29, 2004, 07:00:12 PM
Well, I just read Crist's DRF interview. It was somewhat perfunctory; he must have had better things to do.  He likes Tapit over Read the Footnotes, Master David, The Cliff's Edge and Birdstone in that order. Which means you can safely eliminate the "Mad Englishman's" Guiness swilling horse from the win position. If any of you have had Guiness you'll understand why that alone should eliminate Tapit, shame on Dickinson for feeding him that swill.

Crist also said the Churchill workouts were "overrated". Typical that Crist still doesn't appreciate the importance of workouts. It was his "Racing Times" most egregious error. For months they didn't have workouts.

I don't believe its possible to not consider workouts yet still be an effective judge of pace and Crist's positions are evidence of that.  However, but for his win selection its hard to argue with his underneath horses.
