Title: Ready for Rye
Post by: mjellish on June 06, 2015, 09:38:32 AM
Pretty tough not to like him here on TG at the current prices.  He was fast at two and has that big fig to run back to.  If he does he wins this one.

I couldn\'t disagree with that logic. It came down to him or Cinco for me and I took Cinco figuring Asmussen has been getting some decent jump ups lately. See the sprinter he ran on Preakness Day that won. This was a tough tough....beat but gives me a little confidence on Shook Up if she isn\'t over bet.

So much for the first 3 races being chalky....

Curious if mjellish is willing to post his thoughts on this one?

I think that was the first time I saw a \"close to post-time forum-posted selection\" by you (almost seemed out of character).  I know percentages are a big part of your game, his 5-2 M/L is low, first time turf....so I\'m guessing you will pass on the race or rather avoid him like the plague.

I dislike the race and likely won\'t play the race.  I am more interested in the psychology of having previously picked him and what you would (will) do with him this time esp first turf at a low price.

I don\'t usually get married to horse i liked that lost and is now running back unless they figure on the individual merits of the race. For what its worth, I would not have bet him in this spot at those odds to win.  Would have used horizontally if playing those pools.
