Title: A Good Example Of An Overlay (In Hindsight)
Post by: Tavasco on June 04, 2015, 01:47:47 PM
#12 Southern Gem 8th race @ BEL

Does the M/L maker have a credibility issue?

Thanks Joe, I forget everyone is not watching Bel. When your hot you\'re hot but this horse didn\'t seem worthy of being ignored? Turf racing subject to trip malfunctions!

The post u made has a credibility issue, at least moreso thsn Eric Donovan.

Best ML maker IMO at the major circuits.  Seldom makes a big mistake.

Pletcher hitting at 50 percent at belmont right now.  Tough to factor that into your ML accurately.

Horse was ok relative to competition, but several with seemingly more upside and he drew post 12 going 1 1/16th on the inner.   A brutal post.

He lost ground on both turns it looks like and drew off.

Tough to like but a pretty good example of maybe waiting till late to make in-Race bets.   I don\'t think I would have used him, but my 6-1 \"toss\" was 17-1.  Maybe a different lens to look at him through.

One of the handicappers on the NYRA website picked him for 2nd so at least that guy didn\'t ignore him. That capper was not Andy Serling.

No need to attack my credibility, I know nothing of the m/l maker. I was referring to the Bel bettors contrary view of the 6/1 morning line. Such a wide disparity

Thanks for the update on the expertise of the M/L maker s/he apparently understood the horse was a contender, wish I had.

Tavasco

No attack on your credibility.   Sorry if u took it that way.   I said the \"post\", not the \"poster\"

NYRA is my home circuit.   Donovan is excellent.   Making ML tougher than u think (not for belmont stakes type races, but for regular card)

Wrote a scathing post about how awful Battsgila was with ML making years ago.   A friend suggested I try it own my own with the racing form without the odds.  I did.   Not easy.

Good luck
