Title: MrZ
Post by: johnnym on May 14, 2015, 06:35:43 PM
There is little doubt in my mind that MrZ is going to the lead..
Is their any chance that this is the race with the pace Meltdown?
Or are the big 3 just to classy to fall for the bait??
My curious mind would like to know..

I\'ve been wondering similarly about what pace intent Mr. Z may bring to the Preakness.

Getting shuffled back in the Derby didn\'t work out for him. I also think Lukas has to be concerned with the Little big 3 all eyeballing each other and setting softish fractions a la Derby. Z got hurt by trouble early there, mauled actually, if its not the Derby they might move AP down for failure to keep a straight path. He wanted to do more early last so this time I think he does it. What he does is ensure a more fair pace to my eye. Which leaves it to the Little big 3 to sort out whose still there on form to pace a bit faster and still cross the wire first, or cross the wire for purse money.

It\'s probably a better question than the \"bounce\" question. I rememember when Animal Kingdom couldn\'t catch Shackelford because he got away early and held. I think the pace is the better study in this race. There will probably be some serious fractions and it could get interesting if a jock had the nerve to sit more than three lengths off the frontrunners if they include one of the Derby money horses.
