Title: OK, Alan - double or nothing on the beer? And a ?
Post by: shanahan on May 09, 2015, 08:17:25 AM
Alan, Race 6 at Belmont - let\'s go double or nothing on the beer!

I\'m playing a 1,4,6,9 box here.  You are playing the 11,12,3.  Here\'s why I don\'t follow you here - the 12 based on the pattern shows a very high % to run well off his top. Yes, 3rd off layoff, but looking at the PPs, he\'s never run 3 in a row without a break - can\'t use in spite of TR tops last 90.  As for your top pik, I consider him to make the bottom of exotics, but would consider that 6 can run better than him today.  Sciacca is only 7% on the drop. I will look for the #3 next out - this is first off the layoff, and Dutrow and Violette are always tougher second back.
As for my 4, Ness and Rice have to be considered and are faster.  Tossing the 8 as the pattern looks for a step back today.  TR of #6 hot last 90, and just a point and change less than the top 3.  Deal?

Secondly, a question - as I\'m looking at a few trainers toying with blinkers on/off today, didn\'t the TR stats used to include this stat?

Lastly, anyone have a thought on the German colt running in the finale at Belmont?  I was going to single the 3, but chad\'s doing well as usual with these firsters.

Alright, you\'re on. As for my top pick, is it really a drop? He\'s back on his best surfacem, albiet wide. Yes the Rice and Ness charges look tough. The latter, favored, is not faster but Ness is a high % trainer and the horses looks to run well. But he\'s an underlay. Others are just as fast. As for the former, he is faster but has to run back to it off the layoff as 2nd choice. Could do it absolutely, but as 2nd choice he\'s no bargain either.

As far as blinkers on/off, we use the first run overnight Equibase sends out to get the data up and to the venues the day before. Often blinker information is added by the track later or in time for the final overnight sent out. But that doesn\'t allow us to make, print, copy and ship the data to be available at venues the day before racing.

That\'s a nice looking FTS.  Nice pedigree for the distance/surface, and as mentioned Brown can fire with these. I think the 5 is definitely a use in that race.

And........I like TGAB in your side bet.

It\'s a good thing neither of you drive up to the Spa! By August you could be drinking like Richiebee.
