Materiality seems to be the horse to me. Best Jockey in a race where you need a good jockey. Beat the fastest horse in the race. Fastest horse in the race oftens gives up excessive ground, no reason to think differently today. Materiality has never bounced and could move forward.
Tier One - Upstart, Firing Line
Tier Two - Frosted, American Pharaoh, Materiality
Tier Three - Danzig Moon, Bolo, Dortmund, Carpe Diem
Win bets on the big prices, Heavy exactas 1/1,2 and reversed. A little lighter exactas keying the bombers DM and Bolo. and probably Tri\'s in some sort of 1/1,2/1,2,3, 1,2/1/1,2,3, 1,2,3/1,2/1 pattern.. A few superfecta lotto\'s in there with these 9, but I usually don\'t get too crazy with them.
I\'m on Materiality as well, the price just seems too big for a horse who has done nothing wrong so far, has a good draw in a race where the toughest competitors are doomed to be losing a lot of ground, a good jockey as you say and for me it\'s also additional value that the Florida Derby seemed much less impressive to the public than it actually was. I don\'t want to give to much emphasis to the TG-figure of 4 in the debut either when handicapping this pattern as it was on sloppy ground, 6 furlongs and Materiality won very easily anyway. Of course this is the derby and not very many of them will run to their true capabilities but at 12/1 I think it\'s a very good bet in a competitive race with a lot of factors that makes this years edition a very interesting one, betting-wise.
A- Dortmund, Frosted

Top line horses are 2-10-18
ONLY underneath 14 - 21
Has Materiality looked better than he did earlier in week? Thought he was getting knocked for looking washed out and not the way you\'d want him to look heading into Sarurday?
American Pharoah & Dortmund are my keys

B- Carpe Diem, Dortmund, AP,
C- Bolo, Materiality, Mubtaahij, Frosted
Will play some type of combo keying A on top. Carpe Diem is a horse I like today also, may move him to the A tier also. But right now this is what I like.
Tri
Frosted/CarpeDiem
Frost/CD/Dort/Upstart
Those 4 + AP/Danzig/It\'s/Bolo
Key horses - Bolo, Frosted
Major plays - Dortmund, Carpe Diem
On the back end - Frammento
It\'s all about Frosted!
Dortmund just seems like the one with the great post draw while everyone else drew pretty ugly if you ask me. Might be forced to rate a little but he seems to be the kind of horse that just doesn\'t get tired so if he breaks well and is close up to an average pace I just think he grinds them into the ground at the end. Frosted and Carpe Diem are my others to use. PP draws pulled me off them being my A\'s
A- Upstart, Frosted
B- Firing Line, Bolo, Carpe Diem
C- Dortmond, AP, Danzig Moon, Keen Ice
Stunned by the general lack of talk around Frosted. Classic after the race \"it all makes sense in hindsight\" horse.
Frosted
Mutbaahij
War story
Dortmund
Need Dortmund to run 1-2 but mostly on top.
Keys Frosted and Mubtaahij mostly underneath.
Mixed in with a lot of CD,Bolo,AP and Upstart.

Just keyed Firing Line. Great pattern, others don\'t have to run their big ones, forward move he\'s right there.
Keying 10,19, all
Taking a shot...throwing out AP, using Upstart/Fireing line as keys..good luck to all!

Firing Line wins I hit everything.
Very frustrating day. Hit some other tracks along the way, so did ok. But a couple near misses.
Awesome job JB, thanks for the great information and analysis.
Time to go home, shower, and off to my nephew\'s house. Fight party in backyard, big inflatable screen and huge BBQ. Time to unwind.
!
Yeah, tough day filled with close calls. If Frosted gets up for 3rd, I hit the trifecta multiple times. If Firing Line gets up, big jumps in everything.
In the end I won some money back, lost a little. Garbage pace setup killed the race. Nobody else had a chance.
Three Cali\'s that had ez preps, slow pace hurt anything behind.
Agree. I keyed frosted. If the pace would have been in the 45 or 46 range, frosted gets there. He was the only horse that was making up significant ground.
what happened to upstart? i lost the video right as they were loading and didn\'t get to see the race yet.
He ran last. I was wondering what happened myself. Something must have went wrong.
Wow! I take it you don\'t study patterns much or buy many horses?
