This draw just took the wind out of my sails!
The more I looked the more I loved Carpe Diem and I liked him a whole bunch even before the Bluegrass. I was very confident a new top in negative territory was a given with a perfect stalking trip.
The 2 hole will make him wait a long time in the gate while loading, make him use energy early to keep from getting locked in and worst of all is Materiality being next to him who may take a left turn early or break down in front of him.
It\'s Derby week. I loved a horse, all business is done for the week, looking forward to 3 days of hard core gambling, maybe an occasional cocktail, a bit of socializing and now my date dumped me 3 days before the prom!!!!!
I\'ll get over it, the all stakes pick 4 on Oaks day looks like a great opportunity

1,2,3 all tactical, all forced to send pretty hard to find a spot.Draw has huge implications. Wonder if Zayat now scratches slug MR.Z which would probably give AP a clear stalking trip.
TAP looked ill after draw.Dortmund, Firing Line drew well, AP ok will have a chance to strut his stuff if good enough.

Already plotting to bet against him at 3/5 in the Preakness! If he is the super horse who glides over the track? No way he comes back in 2 weeks as fragile as the foot is, how he has dropped weight 2 races in a row and with what they had to do to get him here.
I don\'t think Firing Line can win, Upstart was a question before drawing 19, Frosted is a bounce to moon for me, Materiality a complete toss before his works and the draw. I\'m thinking its an all Bobby B. Derby.

I was deflated when I learned post 2 for CD also.
Eiber Coa did about as well as anyone could do to carve out a trip with Musket Man from post 2 in 2009 into the first turn. Still ended up 6 wide in second turn.
Paid Up Subscriber my get out horse in the finale after the Oaks.

Ice box had no tactical speed. Dropped back near last. Not exactly the trip CD would be hoping for.
Nice info Fairmount and thanks!! I\'m still fine with post 2 for Carpe. He has speed if he needs it and will he saving ground. If he gets beaten by others who are 4 wide the trip then so be it. All I ask is a clean trip!!!
Does Super Saver get a different trip if he\'s in the two hole? Doubt it.
