I checked DRF Online to try and find some info on Sinister G.\'s cough. I\'m hoping he\'s in the field because his presence potentially makes it an easier race to handicap, but I came across something that made my stomach turn. The greedy little people of Santa Anita and their wholly self interested petty little ways:
http://www.drf.com/news/article/54974.html
The nasty little power grabbers had the unmitigated audacity to state the following among other self centered statements:
\"...disputed the analysis presented by Valenzuela\'s psychotherapist in a hearing with Santa Anita stewards in late March...It is our feeling that Mr. Valenzuela is not mentally fit to resume riding and has not been properly evaluated for both mental capacity and substance abuse.\"
Anything to do with the fact that Mr. Valenzuela had won the previous five or six consecutive riding titles prior to his problems?
I\'ve known some pretty solid people to have some some pretty severe problems over a marriage going bad.
If they have testimony let the munchkins speak it before the board. Let them testify as to P.Vals unfitness at work. Some short people got no reason to live. I\'ll remember these guys and look for a chance to give them an earful.
Short People got no reason
To live
They got little hands
Little eyes
They walk around
Tellin\' great big lies
They got little noses
And tiny little teeth
They wear platform shoes
On they nasty little feet
Well, I don\'t want no Short People
`Round here
Short People got nobody
To love
They got little baby legs
cause thy stand so low
You got to pick \'em up
Just to say hello
They got little cars
That go beep, beep, beep
They got little voices
Goin\' peep, peep, peep
They got grubby little fingers
And dirty little minds
They\'re gonna get you every time
Don\'t want no Short People
\'Round here
At least none of this dirty little bunch from Santa Anita around here:
Paul Atkinson,
Mick Ruis,
Alex Solis,
Kent Desormeaux,
Jose Valdivia Jr.,
Jon Court,
Mike Smith,
Alex Bisono,
Corey Nakatani,
Matt Garcia,
Luis Jauregui,
Victor Espinoza,
Tyler Baze,
Angel Gonzalez Jr.,
Javier Santiago,
Omar Berrio,
Octavio Vergara, and
Chris Russell
This was uncalled for and in response I have to do it. I\'ve already called down the God of Equine Fates upon Madcap Escapade and Frank Brothers. She\'ll win no Kentucky Oaks. Now the Curse has to be expanded. It makes it easier to handicap. You gotta use something to separate them and pettiness is good enough in some cases and has worked as a handicapping Chaos tool in the past. Alex Solis wins no Derby. He sucks anyway, he\'s a horribly overrated jockey...the Clown says..\"Slower\" Mike Smith...I dont\' think he\'s got a Derby either. I remember him sucking air on Proud Citizen..Lionheart is done...\"Slower\". If any of these other lilliputians have or retain Derby mounts you can toss them out of the win spot this year. It ain\'t gonna happen cause I\'m putting the \"slower\" mojo on the little cry babies.
There that makes it easier to handicap the race.

CTC:
I follow Cal very closely and I have to agree with the riders. He broke his contract and should be punished. This is not the first time(unfortunately probably not the last time)he has done this. I am one of his biggest fan but he should sit down and figure out his life not ride horses. Depressed people do piss all the time and all he had to do was piss in cup and everyone would have no problem. However, drug addicts and alcoholics will lie to you every single day, every single time until it too late. This is a bad but not unprecedented move for a sport that is lacking right now.
I respect your opinion OPM and I hear what you\'re saying.
Bottom line is theres no positive and the jockey colony wants him to serve whatever time it is...I think it could be lifetime, because he missed his doctor appointment.
I think their position is he\'s got a mental problem because he missed that appointment and that it was probably drug related. They need to testify to that. Maybe they think he\'s got a mental problem over his marriage failing, I don\'t think so, but if that is the case they need to testify to that and explain why the shrink is wrong.
I think its about greed and power.

I\'m an Air Force guy. Imagine what would happen to me if I broke my \"contract\" and didn\'t show up for a mandatory drug test and then disappeared for a month or so! And that\'s after 19 years of a perfect record. I say screw him!
CtC--
It\'s tough to judge when we do not have all the facts.
Good Luck,
Joe B.
I would point out that jockeys are steering thousand pound animals going 35 miles an hour, without brakes, in close quarters, so there are some practical issues here that make the situation different than those in other sports, which are usually \"moral\". Note quotes.
The correct analogy might be DUI.
alex solis has improved. after the countless close losses aboard superior horses in major races, alex has finally found out the jockey\'s purpose in a horse race: to get your horse to the wire first. i correctly sold the guy short for years, but i don\'t think you can do that anymore. as for pval, i like watching the guy ride, but he has to show up for the drug tests. if the sport lets him skip the mandatory tests without discipline, others in his situation will be more likely to do the same. human emotion leads some to want to give the guy a break, common sense says the rules are there to protect both the jockeys and the horses. for the good of the sport, i think everyone should have to follow them.
If rules are made to protect jockey and horse, why was Gary Stevens allowed to use a buzzer on Thunder Gulch? Why was he not treated the same way Santos was? And what about protecting the public? When riders (and trainers) cheat, the public (whom without there would be no racing) gets screwed. It sounds to me that these jocks all know that PVal is a much better rider than they are, or else why would he have won all those riding titles? Luck? More like natural talent.
\"why was gary stevens allowed to use a buzzer on thunder gulch?\" ...you just typed in, as a matter of fact, that gary stevens used a buzzer on thunder gulch in the KD. do you realize that? please, go back, use the \"edit\" option, and erase that.
What buzzer are you talking about?
Joe B.
This topic was discussed at great length here last year. Probably in the archives, so I\'m, not gonna beat a dead horse.
Send me your address and I\'ll send you the video tape with frame by frame slow motion. Everyone I have shown it to who was skeptical before are now convinced.
P.S. The subject here is PVal and his drug use. I said earlier that he has had not positives in a long long time. something like 4 years, if I\'m not mistaken.

All I can say is nowhere do the complaining Jockeys state in these \"reports\" that they are concerned about their \"safety\". MO stated it weeks ago, he said: \"Is PVal a hazard at work is he putting the other Jockeys in jeopardy.\" If he was doing that they probably could ask PVal to give a sample and my guess is thats why the sample on demand clause exists. But I haven\'t heard the midgits say that. What they say is that \"He makes us look bad\" and \"He\'s got a mental problem\". Of course they are right. He does make them look bad. JoeB. stated \"we don\'t have all the facts\". Thats certainly true and if the eighteen dwarfs don\'t have anything in regard to safety to point to they shouldn\'t be making the kind of allegations they are making. Maybe its time to wait and see just what this involves, but I think we know it all and that it involves avarice.
The guy they should be scrutizing for Safety is J.D. Bailey.
One last point. I\'m not calling the subjects small because of their physical stature. Their smallness is much larger than that.

I would add that random testing for all riders would be a better way to go. Then we will see who complains.
To take it a step further, we could shake down all jockeys before each race searching for illegal devices.
We could take a blood sample of every horse entered in every race 4 days prior, then 1 day prior and at 10 minutes to post time.
Hey Chuckles, Enough with the dwarfs, midgets, nasty little people, etc., already. You are an *******. Asfufh
Da Buzza man is back!!!!
Finding anything in those archives would take the rest of my life...fill us latecomers in on this story...Thanks
