Title: Where is Sparkling Review?
Post by: richiebee on April 07, 2015, 01:55:41 AM
Hoping this top notch now 4YO turf filly will be returning to the races this
Spring at Kee or CD, both venues where she was an impressive stake winner last
Fall, showing an eye catching turn of foot.

Tried trainer Ben Colebrook\'s Facebook page and found no info; even checked to
see if SR had her own Facebook page-- apparently not.

Speaking of sparkling reviews, if you want to take 2 hours and 20 minutes away
from overanalyzing the Derby, tuning in to the latest TG /Rags kerfuffle
(I always think about Clemenza telling Michael Corleone \"these things have to
happen every five, ten years or so. Helps to get rid of the bad blood...\"), or
maybe you want to distract yourself from contemplating the unthinkable -- that
the NYRA crash dummies will buck an industry wide trend and install a synthetic
surface for winter racing at Aqueduct, have I got a film for you.

If you like action flicks or romcoms, or movies with prequels or sequels, this
film may not be for you.

La Grande Belleza (The Great Beauty) was the OscarTM winning Best
Foreign Film of 2013. This film is the fictional story of Jep Gambardella (I\'m
assuming no relation to the jockey who rode for a long time on the New England
circuit), a one hit wonder of an author who has spent the last 40 years as a
major player in Rome\'s decadent party scene. Around the time of his 65th
birthday, Jep becomes introspective.

There is some great humor in here and at the end of the film director Paolo
Sorrentino takes some runs at religion, both pop and papal. The film is
beautifully shot and soundtracked. There is an outstanding one minute and
fifteen second scene filmed at the National Etruscan Museum which I will not
even try to explain.

Available on Hulu Plus, and again, maybe not for everybody.

Richie,

A bit of a different twist on Clemenza\'s greatest hit could explain how the numbers war has evolved.

Leave the gun take the anemometer; the wind could change causing the track to change speeds. What are you nuts; gimme the cannoli\'s!

Turns out she was clocked for speeding down in the Ocala area in Feb. She worked three bullets at Solara Farm, That is, if you can earn a bullet and be the only horse working at that distance/day?

The Solara Farm web site has lots of nice pictures but can\'t know if she is one because they lack identifying captions. Good Luck.

Bravo!

I\'m compelled to plug this movie and say richiebee\'s review of the film is on the money.

It deserves its awards. I\'ve never been to Rome but this movie got me close.

The images, the sounds!

Thank You.

Have it on reserve at my local library.  Sounds more than worthwhile.
