At some point this horse is going to have the word great put on him. Push button freak horse that would be undefeated if not for madness in the BC..Just fun to watch and as a gelding we will have him around for a long time.
SB Beyer 111( like neg -3.50 TG) Amazing when you look at his breeding and his overall physicality(small and kinda ugly, toed out)
Still Like to see him tangle Bayern, Chrome and east coast based Tonalist, Wicked Strong,Liam\'s Map,Lea and couple more this summer at the Spa for like a $5 million purse(Clueless NYRA reading here?)
Read that SB is the first Storm Cat line to ever win at 1 1/4 mile.
Miff:
Heard that the plan is to keep SB in California until the Breeders Cup.
Rather than NYRA trying to stage one big race I would rather see them try to host another BC;
Belmont is a suitable and deserving venue, although BC people have no reason to trust the Big
Event with the current NYRA regime.
Bee,
Agree but wonder if a gelding, SB, would be considered for shipping for a huge purse, owners game,Hollendorfer way underrated and slick.
As far as a BC in Belmont, heard that the asking price from the host track makes it unattractive from a $$ standpoint and both CDI and NYRA balked.
With all the purse money NYRA pours down a dark hole with its garbage quality winter product, think the idea of bringing together the best older horses in many years a good one.

In kind of an unrelated matter, an added handicapping challenge for this year\'s BC
will be that many participants will have little or no experience over Kee
surfaces.
Historically, its been very difficult to bring together even two superstars for
what would essentially be a match race; think it would be very difficult to
bring all marquee horses together for a big race, even with a huge purse.
Would imagine the only way to do this would be to enhance (considerably)the purse
of an existing Grade 1 such as the Whitney, maybe changing the distance to 10
furlongs.
The Big Cap was worth $1M.
Why can\'t East Coast horses ship out here to take him on?
Hollendorfer said on the Roger Stein Show considering Oaklawn Handicap or the Met Mile for SB
Sorry it wasn\'t Roger Stein show. It was Thoroughbred LA.
If you watched how Eastern based dirt horses (that had not come out 3 weeks early) ran in the BC, you know the answer.
SB is a nice horse, and he\'s doing it in the part of the country with the toughest testing. But there was only one other horse in there yesterday who would have been less than 20-1 in the GP stake, and that one was going 1 1/4 off a layoff.
If he does ship and spots weight in a handicap it will be really interesting...
Salutos Amigos getting 5 pounds in the Met?
Salutos Amigos getting 5 pounds in the Met?
TGJB,
Almost a who\'d like it less distance. I\'d be surprised to see SB in the Met.
Not so much SA.
Flighted iron
I think SA went the LAST half in less than 46 yesterday, and the track was not fast. I would have no problem playing him in a one turn mile.
Sprinting in Dubai, not so much.
Bayern possible for Met Mile. Not certain SB is a real one turn type chasing fast milers.
I think this race the Met Mile.Handicap.
If the five top horses enter.
1.Shared Blief-128 pounds
2.Bayern-126 pounds
3.Moreno-123 Pounds
4.Honor Code=123 Pounds
5.Private Zone=123 Pounds
6.Salutos Amigos-123 Pounds
7.Valid-120 Pounds
JB,
If these were the weights on June 6 th.who do you like and Why?
I would be betting against SB, how would depend on a lot of things.
Palice Malice is in serious training also, has big figs if same horse.

I would be very interested to see some others get in at something like 108 with a jockey who can make the weight.......would give those of us who believe in weight a chance to take advantage of those who don\'t.
Personally, I suspect HONOR CODE ran an equal or better ThoroGraph performance figure than SHARED BELIEF did on Saturday. [The key would be if PRIVATE ZONE (with Navarro crowing about him before the race) could get loose and repeat that -3. If so, then HONOR CODE really ran giant to beat him going wide. If not, then I suspect HONOR CODE at least paired his -1.5 top last out or more likely (stretching out in distance, second off a layoff; both good for Shug) a figure better than that.
SHARED BELIEF was 1-5 for a reason: He ran against bums. Coming off a lifetime top effort, but not hammered on in his training for Saturday\'s race as he was last time facing a key rival, I\'m guessing that he ran a tad worse than last time. A negative 1.5? At least that\'s what I wrote on my Form when I was handicapping the race. Hollendorfer\'s older horses tend to fairly straight lines where performances are repeated.
I\'ll be interested to see how Jerry sees it.
I\'m not interested in these two meeting at a mile. I\'d like to see them at 1 1/8.
Honor Code a 108 Beyer carrying below scale(116) Got a perfect set up in front of him with Private Zone and Valid in a protracted little war up front. If JB agrees with Beyer, it\'s like TG neg -1.5, but ugly imo.
Honor Code getting lots of ink but needs to step up to rumble on par with Bayern/Shared Belief and a few others that are faster, couple of points.Lightly raced but unsound, will be an interesting one to follow.
I would bet with both fists against Honor Code going 2 turns against graded company. Especially at GP.
Good Luck,
Joe B
If your looking for a horse to carry 109 pounds it would have be a 3 year old aka Ready for Rye, Daredevil or Majestic Affair or a Kentuckian??????????????
One of the 3 year olds to do it was Honour and Glory for Lukas or Pletcher!!!!!!
