I was very skeptical at first of Los Al taking over for the loss of Hollywood Park, but I have to say they provided some great racing on what has to be the fairest and best racing surface in the country. With that long stretch, you almost never have any trouble you can\'t get out of if you\'re good enough, and the surface is fast yet very forgiving. I would not question the performance of any horse on that surface as far as bringing the form to another track. All they need to work on is larger field size. Anytime they had a decent sized field, the betting scenarios were fine, but the short fields which are nothing new in California racing really detract from the wagering there. Just looking back at the Los Al Futurity says it all about how they\'ve succeed. That stretch duel was one of the best of 2014!

Great but do they have room/plans for a turf course?
Maybe outside the main track?
Without grass I might as well bet at AQ, where I am more familiar with the chemists, gypsies and inner tube angles.
The Starlet and The Futurity were classy races, but without turf you will have more exposure to dirt cheap horses that you might see at AQ.
Also seems that Del Mar\'s November Bingstock meet was very succcessful.
Huge fields at SA Friday to kick winter meet off.
