Title: The Gompers
Post by: billk5300s on December 05, 2014, 03:08:29 PM
Breaks his maiden under a hand ride at Los Alamitos.  Very impressive win.  The owner during an interview prior to the race said The Gomper was training well but would probably need a couple of starts.  After the interview the odds went from about 6-1 to I believe 14-1.  Great sandbagging job!!!

I watched the race on HRTV. That horse rolled! He beat a Baffert horse who was well thought of.

I listened to the same interview and did well on the race. Owner said the horse had class and was talented, that was enough for me. As far as horses needeing races, i don\'t buy into that, if you\'re talented you can win. Horses are mostly fit enough to go three quarters, especially horses who will be ridden as inside out closer types.
