Two questions about this one.
1. Watch his last race if you can. Is this a perfect trip Euro winner? Or was he just that much better than his field and it didn\'t matter?
2. He looked fabulous today at Santa Anita. But a week ago, he threw his jock twice before the race at Woodbine and scratched from Canadian International. He received first time lasix that day. Does any of this information (good and bad) affect your decisions?
I haven\'t found a video of his last race in Ireland yet. So I watched his 7/31 effort in the Goodwod Cup where he went off @ the 11/4 2nd choice. He made all the pace in the 2 mile event. He rebuffed Calvaryman\'s early challenge but could not hold off his late burst although he kept on well.
He was 2nd high weight in the field spotting the winner 4 lbs and the 2nd horse 8lbs. He was clearly well regarded going in and was tough to get by. A major player. Plus I love that he beat sixteen (16) horses in last years Melbourne Cup even if he was only 8th. I don\'t see any U.S. horses outrunning or getting by this one. The race is a sprint for him.
Colorful flamboyant owner, quite a handsome celebrity with a nouveau stable makes for a good story. Very usable nice find IMO.
