Title: Hello All
Post by: dilo316 on October 04, 2014, 08:08:48 AM
I have been following TF for a few months and decided today is the day to take the plunge. I have enjoyed reading all of your comments and insights in the past.

I am learning (slowly but surely) how to read the sheets...advice or tips (always accepted) but does anyone have any advice on how to better use the sheets for 2yo/ baby races alil bit better?

Good luck to all this Keeneland opening weekend!!

the one thing i use when there are a lot of lightly raced or unraced 2YO are the TG figs for age, surface and distance.  add the 3, very few will be below 40.  todays last at KNLD is a perfect example.  after the SCR, there are exactly 3 horses with good figs, and less than a 20 fig for firsters.
not very scientific, and the public usually has  the 3 favs, but its worth a look.

In addition to what was previously mentioned I look at the trainer stats regarding win % and ROI for first starters.  Some of these guys are magicians and will win with horses who\'s breeding doesn\'t indicate that they\'ll fire First time out.
