Title: Southern Honey ROTW
Post by: billk5300s on August 02, 2014, 05:49:09 AM
Southern Honey has an nice pattern heading into today\'s ROTW.  She has won at the distance and is moving forward.  A lot of my fellow handicappers don\'t like when they see a horse dropped into AOC races at any point prior to a stakes race.  They view this as the owners \"giving up\".  Is this a valid concern?  Do the connections know something that we don\'t?  What do you think?

The filly was not entered for a claim, the conditions of the race were entry for either 75k claiming or NW 1x.

Thanks Miff, I misunderstood the condition.

As far as the line, I\'d read it as the end of the line, at least in the short term. Best to be a pair up with likelihood of worse.

Nice write up and the addition of the graph in front is a cogent look at the race.  Difficult to go past Sweet Reason as she lays over these like a large blanket over a twin bed. SR ran faster than these as a 2yo in her second start and is training super. At 3-1 she looks handy but at probable off odds of 3-2; not as much.  Still strictly the one to beat as a multiple grade one queen.

Others;  50 shades brings four consecutive bullets into this and is a freak.  The analyst writing that she simply bounced in the Adirondack is ammunition for many that believe cappers bounce more than horses! The rail the main concern but a player.

Thank you Marylou merits a play underneath as she did not care for the Des Moines downpour and her brilliant work is out of character for her and her barn.

Southern Honey is on a hot streak beating a useful Baffert 4yo at Churchill in fast time but they scraped the track that morning and she got sick and missed the prep for this and has been lethargic in the morning.

If you like her a better play as the analysis points out may be Bird Maker.  While the evidence that she is better sprinting could not be any more invisible the blue and brown homer is a big number and may get a piece as more than a few seem shaky at seven poles.

Sweet Reason over both \"mary Lou\'s\" and 50 shades.  bbb

I wonder why this horse has not raced in 2 months?
