Title: Espinosa
Post by: heatherk on May 05, 2014, 10:37:11 AM
I am of the opinion that he deserves much more credit. He broke CC well, then CC was a little rank and seemed to want to go to the lead right away, but Victor took a firm hold and CC settled in behind horses 2w around the first turn. This seemed critical that caused the easy lead and win. Thoughts??.

Heatherek,

CC avoided early disaster when he broke outward bumping Samaraat but next jump righting himself. Defining moment was approaching the first turn when Samraat could have pinned CC and tighten the spot CC was running to,Samraat rider Ortiz did not.

Espinoza stated he thought about rushing to the lead about 1/8th into the race but took back instead.Espinoza rides this horse well but it helps to have one who is tactical with a couple of runs in him.

Would you then use the term \"push button\" to describe CC\'s character?

Heatherk,

Not really, if you see him in and amongst horses and NOT in the clear, he pulls a bit.CC Has a mouth, but is a bit strong in the face.

Think you mean his usual big run off the turn where he separates from this group. Big new Preakness shooter Social Inclusion(if foot ok) huge threat off tough Wood race where he did more running than winner Wicked Strong, imo.
