Title: A Happy Stoop
Post by: FrankD. on May 03, 2014, 05:47:33 AM
I known that stooping is not as fashionable as it used to be; live track attendance has dwindled, even OTB or simulcast outlets are sparsely attended other than big race days. We all have seen the garbage pail divers or the defined act of stooping by bending ones body to pick up tickets off the floor.

I sincerely hope I made some bums day yesterday as I tossed a saver pick 3 ticket on Lil Bit sassy in races 9-11; 4 .50 centers totalling $297.00

Frank D. was all in on a pick 4 sequence (8-11) of 9 / 2,3,5,6 / 1,3,7 / 13
9 / 5,6 / All / 13 & 9 / 5 / All / 13 and a 9/5 double.
When the 9 could not get up it was the pick 3 exact play.

Exacta\'s all over with 5 /2,3,6 and tris as well.
When Little Journey ran 3rd, you get the picture, the blood pressure spiked and the tickets were tossed gently onto my table. Yes the 2,3,6 / 1,3,7 / 13 saver play was in the pile.

Losing $297 is dumber than dumb but not the end of the world and still made a few shekels for the day and I\'m loaded going into today\'s pick 3 and Oaks/Derby double.

Chaos is the word for this years bunch, no one can argue that. I stated on Wednesday I liked Commanding Curve and would use a few others. Buy the seminar is all I\'ll say as it\'s Untapable / Wise Dan / my choice and the seminar horses for pick 3 and double action. Pick 4 play will be All / All / Wise Dan / CC and seminar horses, with a press on CC as well as 4 or 5 other I like in the first 2 legs.

If CC is in the top 3 today I will make money, if he runs 2nd I\'ll make a lot of money, if he wins it won\'t be a life changing score but may push up my retirement.

If he\'s a complete bust? You may just see me stooping about the Spa this summer!!!

Happy Derby Day to All,

Frank D.

Frank, seeing you stoop at Saratoga would ruin my entire summer.

I hope today\'s result prevents you from stooping at the Spa.

Not that there\'s anything wrong with it.

A professional stooper flicks an upside down ticket with his toe...turns face up
every time...we used to love them in Mutuels because otherwise the money would go
to the State...stoopers helped the churn and cleaned up the outs book...sometimes
you\'d get some nasty looking mutts, but a real stooper seldom passed you a bad
ticket...it was good business to treat them with respect.

LMAO,

Michael I always look forward to seeing you every year a few times. Obviously the worst possible result for a key wheel all around but a reasonable profit.

Tough stretch run bobbing and weaving for Commanding Curve but no way he was getting anywhere near the winner. Oh what could have been!
