Title: Testing at CD /Little Mike
Post by: TheBull on April 29, 2014, 06:40:47 AM
Has anyone heard anything concrete about the Little Mike situation? Supposedly being scratched (or not entered) from the big turf stake the race before the Derby due to out of competition testing. Carlo Vaccarezza was very upset about blood being taken from his horse for testing, and therefore is withdrawing the horse.

To be blunt? This ain\'t Florida.

Well played Miff!

Not sure what there is for Vaccarezza to be so upset about, considering the press release last week pretty much spelled it all out.

\"...out of competition blood samples of all horses competing in the Derby and Oaks, as well as a sample of most participants (more than 50 percent) in undercard graded stakes BEFORE and after entries are taken...\"

Vaccarezza not happy about having to take another trainer\'s test despite being licensed in Florida

Another clown who thinks rules don\'t apply to him and he should be granted special privilege. Now he wants to be given advance notice and have to give his consent? Is this idiot kidding? He thinks blood samples should only be taken with HIS permission? That\'s the whole point of OOC testing; you\'re not supposed to have time to react and plan and counter.  If you were clean, there should be no issue. And the stuff about the trainer\'s test just seems like another car to add to the excuse train.

\"Mr. Pletcher it\'s time to take blood samples.\"

\"Sorry guys, Im not giving you permission to do that.\"

\"Ok no problem. We will go test someone else. Sorry to bother you.\"

Only in fantasy land....Someone tell Mr. Vaccarezza that in the real world, drug tests aren\'t optional. He took his ball and went home. Good riddance.

Exactly. I doubt we will see the results of the sample since the horse never ran, but still, I\'m curious. Not to accuse anyone, but the complaining about no advance notice, or consent, or security present, seems like setting the table for allegations of evidence tampering in case he ran and tested positive. Ryan Braun tried it, and it didn\'t work.
