Hearing how good CC is doing and just how wonderful he is in general on HRTV and TVG? Good lord he isn\'t Secretariat!! Talk about drinking the cool aid! I thought the whole ESPN love over the SEC was bad!
TVG is West Coast biased, always has been, always will be. Zenyatta, Zenyatta, Zenyatta, I can still hear them blathering about her.
Also, the horse racing knowledge of the TVG hosts is extremely light, to say the least. LoDuca a dope. Some of the things he says are absolutely silly and often wrong. Schrup a moron on a good day. The latest move of adding Jessica Rosales to their team of hosts is just unbelievable. Yes, she is pretty. But geez, there are plenty of women in the sport who actually understand the game. Rosales literally doesn\'t say anything about horse racing at all. She knows the horses have 4 legs. that is about it. She is setting women in the sport back 20 years.
Surprised to hear you criticize HRTV though. I actually think some of those people are pretty good. Migliore always on point. Several of their handicappers actually point things out that make sense and give you something to think about.
I watch HRTV about 98% of the time and I agree they have a few that are quite good, but just the whole CC thing is getting old, my god we know he\'s a CA bred!!! Lol I mean the coverage of yesterday\'s CA Cup was horrible with the volume up, every race... \" we know another CA runner running next week \" ok ok we get it... Breeding to Cal breds is wonderful lol. Basically will Derby ever get here so the talking stops and the running begins? Lol
And btw I respect mig\'s comments bug time on works
Rarely do you find any visual media coverage of sports to be much more than hyping an aspect of the sport that will enhance viewership. Plus it\'s the Brent Mushberger effect of absolutely gushing over the team with the momentary hot hand. If you don\'t like CC in the Derby, you should be hoping that he\'s the story in 99% of the coverage, so you get even more dumb money in the pool, though that\'s usually mitigated by people betting their house number or grandkid\'s birthday, which drives down the odds on long shots. As for ESPN and the SEC, that\'s just pushing their own product. Promoting viewership is what always fuels the engine.
I understand the logistics of all of it but doesn\'t mean it hasn\'t made me sick hearing it day in and day out leading up to the race, lol like I said just makes me want the race to get here that much quicker, of course unless he wins then I won\'t even bother to watch HRTV until the triple crown is over lol.
heres an idea....dont watch it!!!
A while back, a health care practitioner advised me that if I stopped watching the evening news, my blood pressure might improve. He said very little that I miss will change anything I do on a day to day basis. I took it a step further and stopped watching ESPN, other than the actual games themselves, and I\'ll mute most of them, too. It\'s like the guy who complains that it hurts when he hits himself in the head with a hammer, so his buddy tells him to stop doing it. Most TV commentary about anything is just noise. Less is more. Much less is much more.
well said....and I will add, if youre going to derby for the first time, a mint julep or 2 a must. Yes the first few sips are strong, but after ice melts, etc, I enjoy them. If I dont go to louisville, I make them at home or whatever casino I am at in vegas will attempt them.
You know they got a pill for the blood pressure thing, right? I should know.
I take one HBP pill daily. Except Derby week when being accosted by Jimbo I up the dosage to twice daily.

A few less photos, inquiries and objections would help, too, but there\'s only so much I\'m willing to give up in the interests of health.
It\'s derby fever dude! Is their a horse that deserves more media attention or are you new to the game..
I rank the mute button up there as one of the great inventions of all time.
