with tensions running high on the board (as they do every year this time), I thought I would offer a break from our regularly scheduled programming to let everyone know about a terrific new piece of fiction that has a big horse racing element to it
I just finished reading it last night
certainly not a feel good horse story but I really loved the characters in the book
it\'s fiction but obviously based on not so thinly veiled real life people and situations that we all know and love/like/hate in the racing business
for anyone who needs a break from staring at the advance TGs and PPs but who wants to stay in the Derby mindset, it\'s a perfect elixir
and the title of the book is......
oh brother, what a dope I am, sorry about that
Title is:
\"Long Way from Home\"
available on Amazon
sorry about that!

Ironic that I just suggested, only partly in jest, that Richiebee write an anthology of stories of brokenhearted journeys home from the track called \"The Long Ride Home.\" I\'m guessing it\'s a theme that has plenty of traction for nearly every horseplayer.
that is really funny (and very true)
I think any sports fan will enjoy the book
horseplayers will love the book
and horseplayers from NY where much of the action takes place will really love it
half the fun is trying to figure out which characters tie to which real life people
some are thinly veiled, some not so thinly vieled!
Aside from writing for BloodHorse, Shulman used to be one of Dice Clay\'s writers.
I know you think I use the word \"awesome\" too much but he is the definition of an AWESOME guy
