Post by: Box on February 26, 2014, 12:23:43 PM
Apparently the horse that was put up Saturday was also on one ticket, only problem is the guy played for a dollar. thus hitting a conso five times but cost himself the pool, can\'t make this stuff up... link follows ...http://www.standardbredcanada.ca/news/2-25-14/flamboro-patron-nails-183k-pick-6.html

If someone hits the only winning payoffs on a SINGLE ticket , they should collect it all.  Can\'t fathom  any other result being fair. More horseplayer abuse by imbeciles.

He would not have scooped the pot had he played just once for .20 as there were a total of 8 winning plays Saturday.

GP management has taken the position of declining official comment regarding the DQ.They feel that not withstanding the amount of the pick six, the DQ was an unfortunate situation in the normal course of business.

.....in other words, gamblers \"shut the f--k up and bet your money\"

The poor person who got DQ\'d will be suicidal if they just watched Gulfstream\'s 6th today & saw a horse bear out just as bad, possibly with less clearance of a lead & remain up.  Ah, consistency.

Wondering if Paco lopez has family members as stewards

He got the benefit of the call Saturday.  Today, he bumps the other horse at least once, maybe twice, and wins a nose bob.  No inquiry and no DQ.

Awful call.  Especially by the same stewards who made the call Saturday under the premise that the herding changed the result.

Speaking of gripes. How many millions bet per week at gulf?   And no way to get a head on camera of the turf course stretch runs?   What are we in 1920?

It says in the article that there were a number of other winners, so regardless of how much he bet he wouldn\'t have hit the jackpot.  So you did, in fact, make that up ;)

Let\'s agree he wouldn\'t have hit it.  Doesn\'t change the fact that IF someone has it three times on a lone ticket, they don\'t get paid.  Unless I\'m mistaken about that, it\'s an absurdity.

Come to think of it, how could that even happen.

Can happen if denomination on his ticket is more than .20 or if he repeats the .20 ticket.  Either way, not smart if you want to take down the whole pool.

What happens if you have all in the last leg and they are all paying out pool tickets and a horse gets scratched at the gate and you move to the post time favorite.  You now have two plays with the post time favorite, of course it wins and then the pool carries over..

They need to make some rule changes on this thing.  Something like the above could cause suicide conditions..

Lost,

What are you trying to do...apply logical brainstorming before after the clowns rolled out the product wager...\"Just tell the bettors that we will release a well crafted PR statement that skips over this issue and rollover the carryover to the next day\"....
