trainer john steinbaugh was suspended for a total of 16 years ,fined 40,000 thousand and forfeit of 8000 thousand in purse money for the drug viagra,found in his horses, new mexicos racing panel said this was to be the first case found at ruidaso downs,the drug ennabled the cardiac rate to rise giving it endurance making the horses to run faster,he could have been suspended for 25 years ,but felt 16 years was adequate since they state there tough on drug offenders in the racing game ,just came out this afternoon on fox sports ,wonder if this is being used out here on the eastern tracks as of yet.
