Title: Scratch and Corrected Weight in the San Marcos (SA 7)
Post by: richiebee on February 08, 2014, 05:04:47 AM
Artic North is scratched; 13 still scheduled to go.

The weight on rank outsider Would You is 118, not 123 as listed on TG and DRF.

Would You is 30/1 ML and might be three times those odds at post time. He
would have had a very good shot in the last race of the day, a 32/28 claimer.

Some interesting notes on this gelding:

He ran 9 times in 2013; he was claimed in 6 of those races.

In his 2014 debut, this well bred animal won an optional claimer at 20/1,
knocking me out of the P4 in the first leg. This was his first turf win in 4
tries. At the age of 6, he ran a TG# nearly two points faster than his
previous best effort on any surface.

Probably gets trounced today, might come back at a decent price in his next
effort if placed properly.

Utopian looks interesting from ground saving post at a distance he prefers. Numbers put him right in the mix with slight improvement.

Good Luck,
