Title: Kay gives glimpse into future of NYRA at racetrack symposium
Post by: twoshoes on December 10, 2013, 04:38:20 PM
Seriously.... this is how we are going to measure success?

<
"Attendance doesn't spend money," Kay said. "People do.">>

Somebody should point out to Mr. Kay that given New York\'s archaic racing laws the only way NYRA gets paid in spades is if people bet on track or through NYRA Rewards. They get a pittance otherwise for each dollar wagered. So yes, attendance is important. What would be more important is getting those laws changed. But no time for that now.... we have concessions to tackle first.

Yeah, I didn\'t get that line either. I thought there was some relationship between \"people\" and \"attendance\". Honestly, I thought they were the same thing.

Did Kay mention how many \"matches\" would be run at Bel and Sar each day?

Clueless NYRA CEO Kay:

Selected word counts from Chris Kay\'s RTIP Symposium keynote speech:

Fan (35) Guest (31) Experience (28) Gamble (1) Horseplayer (0) Takeout (0)

.....Brilliant!!!
