Good Evening All,
I\'m looking for feedback regarding wagering strategy. TGJB has some guidelines posted which are very good but I have some questions. Do most of you avoid trifectas and superfectas and lean towards exactas and horizontal wagers such as doubles and pick x\'s? It seems that tris and supers eat a lot of money and the payouts really suffer if a chalk sneaks in. I\'m trying to improve my money management and was interested in what others recommend.
Thanks,
Bill K
I only play trifectas when I really like a specific horse to win a race and I like only a few horses to run in the top 3, sometimes I restrict it to really liking another horse to run in the top 3. I do one of 2 things: 1)I key that horse on top of 3 behind him. Unless he\'s a pretty good price, I won\'t play the tri unless one of those 3 is a bomb. Example A/B,C,D/B,C,D 2) If I like a horse to run 2nd or 3rd with my horse on top, I\'ll take 3 horses & play with it running 2nd & 3rd. Example A/B/C,D,E; A/C,D,E/B. Both ways I\'m limiting my play to 6 combinations.
I almost never play superfectas unless I like 4 horses in any order & box them, but that\'s already 24 combos.
