Title: Question for Covello?
Post by: Beau on October 31, 2013, 05:38:35 PM
Covello,

I loved Testa Rossi last race and one of the reasons was that she was getting Lasix for the first time. My question for you relates to her not getting lasix tomorrow. Is she a bleeder or did Chad just issue her lasix as he does almost all his euros first time United States?

I understand if you don\'t want to answer I just thought I would ask anyway because I\'m real hesitant to bet any 2 year old race because of the lasix issue.

In any event Good Luck this weekend... and GO GO Testa Rossi.

Thanks for the thoughts

She\'s not a bleeder. Obviously raced without it very well in Europe.

Never breezes with it and has been regularly out working her partners.

Obviously we will never know but we all believe it was the better training, faster pace in the race and longer distance that moved her up from a figure standpoint. She\'s a scopey filly, was never meant to run well going 6f. That\'s one of the reasons we bought her. I always look for a horse that does something well that they weren\'t supposed to be doing (ie think orb coming from way out of it in a day when no one else was closing or Barbaro winning the fla derby from that outside post)

Thanks for the quick response I\'m sure you\'re very busy.

I hope I don\'t weight her down as she is my pick as well now.

Congrats, Jim! She ran a great race.

I had the 6 and 8 boxed with yours in the tri. After 30 years you would think I would learn to toss the faves.

I know this is an overused phrase, but a few more jumps and you are getting your picture taken.

Just got a chance to meet Jim and offer my congratulations. Just a really good guy, and an easy guy to root for.

If I can get by the clubhouse attendant again, would love to take you up on that drink offer tomorrow.

Congrats on a fantastic race.

Jim,

What a nice effort! I know you are very proud of your filly,
who was obviously compromised by her post position. Give her
a fairer post over a more neutral surface, and it will be
YOU in the winner\'s circle next time.

Not redboarding, just saying it is nice to wager on a superior,
well-meant entrant -- with both hands -- and come away a winner.

Testa Rossi simply made my day.
