Title: Labor Day Weekend Seminars
Post by: TGJB on August 28, 2013, 11:10:19 AM
Seminars this weekend will be where they were Travers weekend, at the old spot on the deck behind the food trucks, starting at 10:40.

Good Luck...BTW remember when the extended Saratoga Meet was a cause for concern because it might water down the outstanding Meet Saratoga already was? I think this is home run now and while I am not there in NY to gauge things I gotta believe it has helped the health of racing a little by making it something more people go and do in the summer. Just a guess

Hey Silver:

I think the 40 day meet is OK, and would not be surprised if they augment the
length of the meet in the future, adding maybe another ten days or so, as NYRA
eventually \"goes private\" and abandons its \"not for profit\" status.

I agree with Steve Crist that the length of the cards, not the length of the
meet, might be the problem. 14 races on Travers Day. 12 races Saturday. I can
live with 4 of Saturday\'s 12 races being maiden races, but do not know why NYRA
packaged them such that there are 3 maiden races in the early Pick 4, and do not
know why the Bernie Baruch, featuring your half brother Silver Max, was not made
part of the late Pick 4.

If cut backs in the number of winter racing days at Aqueduct are made (almost
certain), this will be at least one justification the Clueless Clowns use for
the enlargement of the Saratoga meet. Hopefully the quality of racing will not
suffer.
