Breeder\'s Cup tickets go on sale tomorrow, and am wondering if any of the Santa Anita vets can recommend the best way to go about seats, and the best view/value seats to consider. Not interested in the dining, just nice seats with good view without lots of hassle. I am sure there are lots of choices that would work, so those of you that have been to previous editions there, whats the key? Thanks - banditbeau
They actually went on sale Monday. Code is BCVIP.
Best bang for your buck is the Grandstand. I got 2 seats for each day in Section M, which is between the 1/16 and 1/8 pole. They are below the walkway Row 7. If I remember correctly, being above the walkway brings the pillars into play. So getting seats below the walkway removes that problem. They cost me $300 per seat for both days ($100 Friday, $200 Saturday).
Prices run from $425 per seat for both days (right near the 1/16), to $125 per (before the 1/8 pole in upper stretch).
On my first few trips to SA 20 years ago, I remember sitting in the Grandstand around the 1/8 pole. Best Pal made a sweeping move to beat Twilight Agenda. I have sat here for previous runnings of the BC and the view is very good. It just depends on how close to the finish line you want to sit, and there are also Big Screens that can be viewed from any Grandstand seat too.
The Grandstand Reserved Box seats are sold out. Here is a link of the seating map and where they are on track. You can also purchase tickets from the BC site I have linked.
