Per HRTV broadcast, Hollywood is closing at the end of the year.

Where are all of those horses going to go? Is there enough room at SA for all of the So Cal horses? Sounds like a big problem to me.

They already have...applying for a 3 day weekly meet in November.  If they do it they want full fields which means less days - like the Monmouth meet 2 years ago.

Can\'t beat the weather.  If our horses go back east, you all should come out here for Del Mar, Part 2!

I\'ve previously heard that, in case Hol closed, they would expand Los Alamitos to a 1-mile track and put in a turf course.  Also heard that Pegram is one of the owners of Los Al.  Makes sense if it happens - Los Al is in Orange County, a big market with lots of well-off folks.  Short-term, SA & Dmr will both apply for extra dates.
