Title: Uh, Len...

Thanks, Len. The E-Mail you were kind enough to publicize was sent to the FIFTEEN (!) Thoro-Graph on-line customers who qualified for the FINALS of the NTRA contest. That \"long time sheet user\" you mention? He has an account with us-- THAT\'S THE ONLY WAY WE WERE ABLE TO SEND HIM AN E-MAIL. And there may be others that qualified that buy our hardcopy product that we don\'t even know about.

And yes, we thought that it was only fair to give these guys free sheets for the tournament finals if we were going to publicize it when they do well, like we did last year when Wolfson won.

As for Indulto\'s comments-- boy, have you got it wrong about the ancillary data posts. Friedman in particular showed an almost perfect lack of understanding when he talked about comparing second off a layoff to layoff numbers-- OF COURSE that would be misleading, which is why we compare the numbers to effective tops, a concept Friedman and another poster seemed to be fumbling to reach. I\'ll go into greater detail about this groundbreaking stuff next week when we roll out the (many) new categories.

By the way, I was at Hollywood Park the day you lost the match race to the quarter horse.

A more appropriate response, imho, would have been: So What? Free forms & brisnet pps have been available at every contest I\'ve gone to. Everyone who sells goods & services must necessarily take steps to publicize & market those goods & services. People are obviously much more likely to do business with those who want to do business with them & make it easier to do business with them. These are not things which anyone should need to explain or be defensive about. The question this raised in my mind is why the email wasn\'t sent to all qualifiers.
