Title: Woodford Reserve..
Post by: Lost Cause on May 02, 2013, 09:29:41 PM
Monster race with the two best turf horses running..terrible for betting purposes as one of these are going to win and they will be on all tickets but a hell of a race to watch..Gonna press Point of Entry on everything though as I think the distance swings it to his advantage..

I\'m thinking Pick 3 and/or Pick 4\'s to get a little leverage
8th -Ramsey comebacker
9th -Ramsey Rosario comebacker
10th - the two turf monsters
Score! - Although will have to suffer depressed payoffs

11th - your A\'s (If Ramsey doesn\'t steal this one)

12th -Oh...Another Ramsey (For ins or true believers)

So Great day of American Racing could be stolen from us - I hate even having these thoughts. But the Woodford Reserve s/b a joy to watch - no rain, no rain, no rain.

Good Luck Lost Cause - you sound pumped.

Not sure why everyone thinks the WRTC is a 2 horse race, or at least why any TG user would think that.  There is another horse in that race that is EXTREMELY live, gets weight and is inside the others, and ran his career best at CD just last fall.  And is raced by Covello.

Additionally, if they get the inch of rain they are saying they might due to the stalled out front dumping rain all day, the surface could be a complete bog (assuming they don\'t outright take it off).  I believe this track drains toward the middle, so that may negate the impact of saving ground, because it will be even mushier down there.  You never know what can happen under these conditions.

BimBam nearly stole a G1 race at 40-1 on Belmont Day a couple years back under very similar conditions against some very highly touted foes, and though he cost me 5-figure payouts when he couldn\'t get by another 40-1 shot who won, I\'ll never forget it.  He is a couple years older now, but came off injury with 3 pairs and if he\'s ever going to go forward it could be here under the soft conditions.

If it is boggy that hurts POE a lot. If its.not they are going.to be right up Wise Dans ass and this horse is ready. They have been wanting this matchup!!!

The TG poster child has a big shot in that race, let\'s hope that Silver Max doesn\'t ruin his day!
