Anyone have any opinions on the tougher categories like sprinter, 3 year old colt, etc...
I see that Cajun Beat is skipping the CA sprint that will be held in 2003 for a Florida sprint in early 2004. Had he won out in CA at 7F, it might have given him a better chance.
Great Topic CH,
I will weigh in later, in more detail when I have more time but this year there are a lot of categories that are a TOTAL GUESS.
How about two year champ?
I can\'t even remember the name of who won the BC Juvy and I\'m pretty good about those kind things.
If the Sprint Champ goes to either Congaree or Aldeberan then it will go to horse who actually never sprinted (6F) the entire campaign.
Go figure
Not sure about the sprint Eclipse---perhaps CAJUN BEAT by default.
For 2yo colt, I thought that EUROSILVER\'s win at Keenland was the most impressive race by a 2yo.
Good luck,
Joe B.
if lion heart blows em away tomorrow, he gets my vote for 2 yr old colt (although this st averil colt might present a challenge). cajun beat has to get best sprinter, just no other strong competition. 2yr old filly is a lock. three year old colt..... hmmmmmmm .. slight nod to EM, he was simply a better horse than the other one. jock and trainer are obvious, as always.
turf horses are tough calls. interesting, not one of the six euros that took home the top awards over there came to SA for the BC. it was nice to see a pair of nice fillies win the big BC races, and HC is good i guess,
but i can\'t get too excited about the turf awards when many of the best never came to race in the US. oh, champ older horse i guess is a lock also.
