Vyjack worked awhile ago in 59 at Aqu last quarter 22.4, galloped out like a beast!Wood coming up as a possible great race with Verranzano,Vyjack,Normandy Invasion all pointing there.

completely agree with the Wood being absolutely loaded with a bunch of them needing no worse than a 2nd place finish to get into the Derby.

I don\'t know all the TG numbers for all of them yet (to know exactly how loaded) but in addition to the ones Mike lists, there\'s also West Hills Giant and Mr. Palmer.  That will be one of the deeper Derby preps in some time

Now the Florida Derby has 3 superstar types in Luckyday, SB and Orb so that race is loaded in its own right but the Wood is just so deep.

I know this weekends races are only 50 points to the winner so everyone wanted to wait for the 100 pointers but it seems like some of the folks miscalculated by not sending some of their \"A\" team to the Sunland Derby or the Spiral which both came up very light relative to what we are going to see in the Fla Derby or the Wood

A few really fun weekends coming up

Jim,

Imagine they are \"hustling\" for horses in the Florida Derby. Many smart outfits trying to avoid the tough ones for now, going anywhere but Florida or NY.

totally agree, which makes it all the harder to understand why the Sunland Derby and Spiral are so weak

I put myself in that category as well by the way.

I have 3 decent 3 year olds, two of whom have paired 5 tops in their last two races and I am busy knocking heads with Verazaano instead of running at Sunland or in the Spiral where the paired 5 tops look strong (at least in Spiral, haven\'t seen Sunland yet)

no one said I was very smart!

I agree...I said last week I thought baffert should have sent super 99 to sunland....at the weights and post of the rebel he was compromised....the extra week, and equal weights, bigger purse, I guess made too much sense.

Well, Baffert has the same issue that Pletcher has.

He has too many that he is trying to keep apart.

He wanted to run this monster of Pegram\'s in the Sundland Derby and when you have a great loyal client like that, it\'s hard to put Super 99 in that one\'s way and explain to your biggest client why you ran Super 99 in the same race as his when Super 99 just freaked over the Oaklawn track in the race before.  That would have been a tough conversation.

We should all have such problems that we have that many high level horses but this is the one time of year when I think it really hurts some of the biggest owners in the game to use Pletcher and Baffert.

I don\'t think Dogwood is going to be too thrilled if Revoltutionary noses out Palice Malice for 2nd place next weekend in Lousiana thus keeping Palice Malice and all of those nice folks over at Dogwood out of the Derby (to be clear, not a prediction, just a hypothetical)
