Any update from the TG crew as to whether the alternate plan to get the Breeders Cup up tonight is going to work.
Anybody that is looking for DRF PP\'s and can\'t get them because the site is down, you can get the same stuff from equibase.com and it works there.
Jim
No crew here....just me. Will be done as quickly as possible, but WILL be done tonight. I hope sooner rather than later.
What, no TGAB to help you out?
Well, you know the old adage about rats abandoning the sinking ship....... :)
If you really want at DRF data check out their drf tweets,,they are sending links that work.
FWIW... Best of luck and Like the handicapping so far..hopefully I\'ll have time to chime in my two cents....
Richiebee..How are you surviving? have not heard..Hope your ok!!
NCT:
Thanks for your concern. We were without electricity and hot water for 25 hours and
it could have been much longer. My 85 year old mother in law busted a wild
celebratory move when the power returned; she\'d been going pretty hard at the cognac
while the lights were out.
My wife\'s Chevy was crushed by a falling tree. Total loss, all insured, no injuries.
The only problem is that the day before the storm hit, my wife asked me if I thought
she should move the car out of her assigned parking spot and out into the street
where there were less trees; I told her she would be fine in the assigned spot. We
have agreed that she is entitled to remind me of this every day for the rest of my life, but only once a day.

Yes...but is this with, or without, \"The Look\"?

AKA as the \"Maggie\" \"fish-eye\" she frequently cast at Jiggs.
Richie:
As a former Staten Islander glad to hear you came through OK...out here in Nassau County..very bad..depending on what towntown it was either significant floods, trees down n houses (ME!!), or just no power (85% of Nassau strill out, estimates ranging from 7 - 21 ghedaysdays)...ironic...my wife told me to move mycr down the driveway 3 minutes before one of 50ft. Oaks came crashing down on side of house and driveway saving the car...have not heard the end of herher patting herself on the back!#
Stay safe...John
Richiebee,
I\'m glad you are both safe and have \"the juice\" again.
Sorry to hear about the damage and its just so sad to see places I\'ve grown up with so damaged and destroyed. Sea Bright is destroyed. Right next to my sons town in Atlantic Highlands.
I know the storm can take away the material things, but it can\'t let it kill your spirit.
Everyone our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Trackjohn and NCT:
Again, thanks for the concern. I know how lucky I am to have \"just\" endured a day
and a half without power. I guess the closest things got to a crisis was my mother
in law nearly running out of cognac.
Things in Manhattan still a mess and might be for a few more days. TGJB and his team
need to be commended for cranking out a quality product under adverse conditions. JB
has not yet gotten back to me on my offer to be the ground man at the Russian race
tracks, so I will now volunteer to be the caretaker at the Thorograph Disaster Remote
Facility, which should be constructed somewhere in North Dakota in an abandoned
missile silo.
NCT: As to the Jersey Shore, I have some great memories of the beaches at Sandy
Hook, the bars in Sea Bright, and my days as a gambling groom at Monmouth when we
would make a left turn out of the stable gate, drive about 7 minutes, and be at the
beach at Seven Presidents Park in Long Branch.
In a way, NYC was lucky. What if Sandy was Category 2? What if landfall was further
north than Atlantic City?
The song which I can\'t get out of my mind is Billy Joel\'s \"Miami 2017\"
\"I\'ve seen the lights go out on Broadway...\"
Good luck to all in the upcoming 2 day event. As Frank D\'s favorite trainer, Turo
Escalante, would say: \"Now you go.\"
Given the news about Staten Island I would like to hear from Miff.
Another storm a week away.
In a nutshell, Staten Island more storm related deaths than all boroughs combined. Driving around Staten Island scary along the shore areas. Never could imagine the ocean could travel onshore onto the island a mile deep like it did.
Power out to about 50k people still, gas impossible to get.Friends tell me Jersey Shore and parts of Long Island devastated.
Richie/Miff
Sad to hear about the SI damage...stay safe..Richie...very spooky your Miami 2017 Billy Joel comment...he just performed it 30 minutes ago!
