Post by: Silver Charm on October 31, 2012, 05:29:27 AM
Breeders\' Cup Juvenile favorite Shanghai Bobby will have additional rooting interests in his corner when he starts in the 11⁄16-mile test at Santa Anita Park on Saturday.

Jack Wolf, managing partner of owner Starlight Racing, confirmed Tuesday his group sold a 50-percent interest in Shanghai Bobby to the Coolmore partnership of Susan Magnier, Michael Tabor and Derrick Smith.Wolf said the son of Harlan\'s Holiday would still run in Starlight\'s blue and yellow colors and that his group would be the managing partner of the colt. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Trained by Todd Pletcher, who counts Coolmore among his biggest clients, Shanghai Bobby is unbeaten in four career starts with his most recent triumph being a 5-length victory in the Grade I Champagne Stakes at Belmont Park on Oct. 6.\"They\'ve been interested in the horse prior to the Champagne Stakes and their interest obviously increased when we won the Grade I there,\" Wolf said. \"Before I did anything with these guys I talked to all of our partners and they all agreed that it was the right thing to do. I look forward to being partners with them. They\'re very smart business people and good horsemen.\"Shanghai Bobby drew post No. 4 in the nine-horse Juvenile field and was installed as the 2-1 morning-line choice.
