Title: Attending BCup
Post by: shanahan on October 23, 2012, 03:33:28 AM
As luck has it, I am in CA on business and plan to fly down Friday from SFO.  Could use some advice:
Is SA closer to Orange County, or LAX?
Is it a decent part of town to stay close to the track, or is their a better town close by I can get a car service?
Think tix other than Gen Adm available?  BC website has closed on-line sales.
Any advice appreciated.

I have made the trip from the east coast on a few occasions.  LAX would be better than Orange County in my opinion, you\'re going to hit traffic no matter which way you go. Last time I was attending SA I stayed at the Embassy Suites Arcadia only a mile or so from the track.  There\'s several hotels right there so it\'s easy to get a cab back and forth from the track.

Shanahan-

You can also check out the Ontario Airport as an alternative to LAX.

You might want to consider Bob Hope Airport (Burbank).

Burbank is probably your best airport option, it\'s the one I use.

Embassy been sold out for a year. Most, if not all, rooms in the area are sold. You\'re probably going to have to find a hotel several miles from Arcadia. I hope you get lucky and find one close, but be prepared to look 10-20 miles away. Good luck in your search.

I\'m not going this year, but I usually stay in Hollywood in what used to be the Hyatt on Sunset. I think it is the London now. It\'s a bit of a drive, but there is a lot to do in that area. It\'s right across the street from The House Of Blues. I would stay for a couple of days.

The traffic on Saturday morning wasn\'t bad. At 3:30 in the afternoon, different story.

As far as tix are concerned, I have never had problems getting good seats at reasonable prices outside the track, no matter which one, the day of the BC. If that makes you nervous, try ebay.
