Title: Wagering question any help appreciated
Post by: pacehandicapper on July 25, 2012, 06:53:40 PM
I live in a state (AZ) where state law prohibits any sort of online wagering.  None of the US-based ADW\'s will accept customers from AZ.  Does anyone know of perhaps a service that\'s non-US based but still puts bets in the pools that might accept customers from those of us living in these backward-a** states?  I want to play in the pools but they leave me no choice but to play off-shore (not inthe pools) with these ridiculous rules.  It\'s been a while since I checked into this, just checking to see if anyone has a possible solution.
Thanks.

If you have a relative or address you can sub in, that\'ll work.  Internet is universal, you\'ll get the feed.

Will you be at Spa Friday, or just Saturday and Sunday? Or are you already there?
Looking forward to meeting you.

Richie will be easy to find, he will be in a lawn chair with a cooler sitting out in the rain chanting PJ must go.

Frank:

You underestimate me. If its raining, I will be in the grandstand with my lawn chair
and cooler. I\'m going to lay off PJ this weekend. He has shown great versatility.
Instead of bombarding us with Maiden races, he is killing us with 20K (bottom)
claimers.

You never really know how good a card is until you check the coffers after the last
race.

I\'m gonna lay off PJ though. I will seek out Steve (Hypo)Cri(s)t and ask him why he
hasn\'t been writing articles about how high takeout is killing the game. I guess
being the publisher of DRF means never having to say your sorry.

Frank:

I will not let weather stand in the way of a glorious day of beer and betting. As
such I will be downloading Friday data for Arlington. The weather is supposed to be
beautiful in Chi-Town,sunny and in the 80s. Track conditions: Fake and Firm.

What happens when he wants to fund his account from
his bank in AZ, or have a withdrawal check sent out?

A: Everything has to go through your out-of-state beard,
and some ADW\'s (like TVG) want a picture of the account
holder\'s driver\'s license.

Slippery slope here, not to mention possible fed wire
and mail, um, issues. Careful.

Thanks for the suggestion guys but been there/done that. The problem is I\'m having a very good year and the (relative) I had an arrangement with is put in a situation where they are facing potential tax issues due to a number of signers.  Something seems out of whack when I can buy thousands of rounds of ammunition on the Internet and it\'s perfectly legal, but making a bet over the Internet on a horse race (in a state that conducts horse racing) is illegal.

Is it a pre requisite for regulators to be morons?

Pace - do you HAVE to bet ONLINE?  Why don\'t you bet by phone?  Maybe that will help you.  You can use the Internet to watch toteboard or view races (I think BRISnet lets you do this).  But you can BET by phone into someplace?  I had a phone account with Ladbrokes years ago and they were great but I think they\'ve cut back on their offerings.  There may still be some phone options around, sorry I can\'t be more specific on this and it\'s possible they\'ve dried up a bit.

It looks like twinspires.com has \"live operator and IVR wagering.\"  So you can join, utilize the online features, and then phone in bets, so technically it\'s not \"online.\"  Hope this helps.

Shan:

No Friday seminar, just a bunch of non experts BS- ing between races, usually at
Carolina Barbecue located behind grandstand, near the Carousel.

Frank will be the one reading  \"Weather Forecasting for Dummies\"

2:30 post today, will need the extra handicapping time -- did not know what conditions to expect.

Hope to see you later
