Happy 4th from the Boss...a little gift from Passaic \'78
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=11uFGAHM9io&feature=related
Looking forward to the Spaaaaaaa!!!
When I bred a few back in the 80s I named one Jungleland and another Spiritinthenight. Raced as Badlands stable.
And by the way, how about that guy in the Times saying the Beach Boys were the Great American Band...
You and your Springsteen. There are so many gems in the Beach Boys catalogue that I bet you\'ve never heard. There are maybe FIVE great Springsteen albums. The Beach Boys stack is MUCH higher. And if you tell me Springsteen ever wrote anything as good as \"Pet Sounds\" I\'m going to join Basket and stop buying sheets. Not even CLOSE. They had many tours where they mailed it in but in their prime they were amazing live. And it\'s ironic but the most popular Springsteen, like \"Glory Days,\" is two-three chord hack work and a HUGE drop off in quality and ambition from things like \"Jungleland.\"
Sorry if this doesn\'t help anyone handicap but it needed to be said. Also no doubt about which band got the hotter chicks. Cali all the way.
Happy 4th!

With your head where it is you must have a great view out through your belly button.
Alright, back to horses everybody.
JB,
Brian Wilson musical genius though, no?
Mike
Yes. The Zenyatta of musical geniuses.
Your head is also solidly on white boys, as is the guy in the Times.
Where does the E Street Band stack up vs. Booker T & the MGs? Go ahead and tell me E Street is THE American Band.
ANY band James Brown EVER had in the 60s and 70s. Ask Max Weinberg where he stands vs. Clyde Stubblefield (a guy you couldn\'t name on a bet).
Band of Gypsys.
How about the Allman Bros?
The Meters. These guys would all run RINGS around your E boys.
JB, not even CLOSE. You need to get out more. Ask Springsteen himself where he is on this list and he would say \"last.\" I GUARANTEE it. And he would also put himself behind Brian Wilson. No doubt in my mind. E Street is a GREAT band. All time tops American? No way Jose. Top ten maybe. Number one? COME ON!!!!
HP
LOL,
I dare anyone to claim they have ever seen a better live show than the BOSS; 3 hour shows without a warm up band, it\'s no contest
Yes, Jimbo I am old enough to have seen Bruce & Co. in the Stone Pony for a
$ 5.00 cover a couple of times.
Frank D.
Love Springsteen. Seen him five times. Went to \"No Nukes.\" One of the best shows I\'ve ever seen. I\'ve seen better Frank. Many times.
How about Creedence? I give you a choice between Creedence at their peak and Springsteen and you pick Springsteen? Ok. Watch WOODSTOCK and tell me the E Street Band can top Santana doing \"Soul Sacrifice.\"
HP
Seen Santana, the Dead, the Allman Brothers, the Band, quite a few others, and throw in the Stones and the Who if the topic broadens, and my top five concerts would have been the five best Springsteen I\'ve seen. Only one that threatens would have been Commander Cody and the Lost Planet Airmen back in the 70\'s. But, that\'s just me. Try Googling top American bands, and you\'ll get a different winner on nearly every list. Great topic for bar talk, but I don\'t think anyone\'s making sheets in an attempt to level the playing field.
You played golf with the sister of one of Codey\'s guitarists. Last I heard he was the head of the math dept at RPI, plays occasionally at Siros. Commander lives in Saratoga. Other guitarist (Kirchin) still tours and is great.
Ask Springsteen what he thinks. At least five bands I named are ahead. It\'s completely subjective but you are wrong. LOL.
And this DOES help my handicapping because it gives me the confidence to know I am right and beat the crowd. The Stones did not want to follow JB on stage. Springsteen neither.
We can agree we are the luckiest people in the world!!!
ZZ Top is a pisser too.
Happy 4th PEACE OUT!!!!!
HP
Tramps like us, baby we were BORN TO RUN!
Yeah. Listen to this one. Springsteen would give his left nut to have written this song. If you listened to the Beach Boys albums with the dedication you listen to the Jersey guy we wouldn\'t be having this exchange. NOT EVEN CLOSE.

Let\'s turn back to horse racing. A sport for people of sophistication.

That guitarist, JT, was first rate. Kirchen still is. He was just in town at a small club and blew the roof off. I saw the Commander at the Saratoga racino a few years ago. Definitely a high mileage vehicle.
Tell the lady golfer I said hello. She had game.
With regard to Woodstock and Santana (I\'ve seen him twice), he would have tested positive for a performance enhancing substance.......
Saw a good Beach Boys bio last night and the guy playing Brian Wilson\'s father is the same guy who played the guy in the wheelchair in \"Luck\". Very good actor.
