Title: Frustrating Being A Fan!
Post by: Silver Charm on June 08, 2012, 11:30:31 AM
Very difficult day. Was ready with food cooking in the oven, handicapping materials secured and in place and small opinions being formed. Now this.

Glad to hear the horse isnt in an abulance or with a white tarp hanging over his felled body but right now I feel like its shadowing the sport of racing instead. There will be no changes. The Status Quo will continue to go. We all know this.

For something you enjoy so much and have a passion about being around, there is now cause for pause. Perhaps a thinking process of maybe there is something else better to do. Maybe I feel better or differently tomorrow. Or maybe worse.

One thing is for sure. I doubt anyone else cares, and maybe that is why its so frustrating being a fan today....

I\'m glad they\'re \'doing right by the horse\' and not putting him and the entire field in harms way. We need to celebrate the idea that horsemen DO care about the animals and wont run them unless they\'re 100pct.

This is why its SO hard nowadays to win the TC, that 2 week turnaround is too quick, just another example where back in 2 weeks was just too much to overcome.

Great so the Derby Winner was doped?? Maybe the Sport and NYRA can use that in their next Marketing Campaign.

There\'s one question to answer.  If a Derby/Preakness winner tested positive for something, would the NYRA and the industry come out and admit it?   The answer is an emphatic NO.
