Assuming these are close, does this represent an effort or a non-effort for Bode? Should we looking for an X next out? Would be a beautiful thing since he will be taking a ton of money in the Preakness.

You\'re asking if Bode tearing through those fractions and staying to the end could be a non effort?

I must be reading that wrong.

I wouldn\'t think so myself but, assuming these numbers are close, wouldn\'t they suggest that?

Joel Rosario continues to lose ground in these Triple Crown races.

Creative Cause 3w 5w when he can actually save all of the ground on the first turn by getting in front of Dullahan who isn\'t that quick. If he uses his horse a little earlier in the race he\'d get the same trip follwing the winner.
Maybe his horse wasn\'t 100% with the foot but not a winning ride IMO.

Brilliant Speed 6w4w from the 5 hole in last years Belmont.

Brilliant Speed 3w5w from the 2 hole in last years Derby.

Yeah, but if you are inside in the Derby on the first turn, and are not in the first five or so, your race is over.  It\'s a mosh pit.  Second turn, everyone is backing up into your face.  Look at Julien\'s choices this year  - disaster.

Of course they want the outside.  I\'d rather be 6w than buried and checked, too.

I\'m thinking the Herd Whisperer might come up with some interesting thoughts
after observing humans in a mosh pit...

Disagree.

Joel Rosario cost his horse at least a placing in his last three Triple Crown rides going too wide.

Get off a little quicker and tuck in then figure the trip out from there on CC.You have to try and save ground on one of the turns in any of these races and Creative Cause has a little bit of tactical speed.It\'s not like he\'s a stone closer with no options.

Rewatch his rides on Brilliant Speed and tell me where you would have saved ground as opposed to getting stopped.

Maybe tonight when I have time to look but I know the first turn in the Belmont there was no reason to be that wide with a closer.
