Just looked at the radar. Lots of yellow and red and bearing down on Louisville. The Oaks might be run in a swamp.

PS track fast, setting new records ....

That storm has been sitting literally in the same place for two-three hours now, building up but not moving east.  If it hits before the race, it will delay for at least an hour in a downpour.

UPDATE:  Now NWS saying storm is picking up speed, will hit in 1 hour.  If true, it will cancel the Oaks, as the storm will be around for at least an hour ...

A LINE OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS OVER SOUTH-CENTRAL INDIANA WILL CONTINUE TO MOVE EAST INTO THE LOUISVILLE METRO AREA. EXPECT WIND GUSTS UP TO 60 MPH AND EXCESSIVE CLOUD-TO-GROUND LIGHTNING BETWEEN 5 AND 6 PM AS THESE STORMS MOVE THROUGH.

ANYONE PARTICIPATING IN OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES THIS AFTERNOON SHOULD HAVE A PLAN TO TAKE COVER... AND BE READY TO ACT QUICKLY IF THREATENING WEATHER APPROACHES.

They just announced all infield patrons leave to take cover.  There is weather delay at 13 minutes to race 10.

They anticipate the storm to be there in 1/2 hour (5:00pm)
