Mike Welch says Hansen was rank this morning. Really??? Does this horse look rank to you? Scroll down page to see video.

this video is edited. i\'ll trust Welsch.
It shows Hansen after the gallop. Looks like he never turned a hair.
Watched the HRTV coverage this afternoon, the video was edited, Hansen was pulling very aggressively cocking his head while being restrained. If you were able to see the entire gallop you would have agreed with Mike Welch IMHO.

Lawyer Ron also rank at Churchill going into 2006 Derby
Wish I could see the full video......I\'m not sold. But must admit I am a little concerned. Believe none of what you hear and half of what you see............
Owner said the key will be how he looks in post parade -if he\'s biting the pony and being aggressive- not good, but if relaxed walking along side the pony like in the Gotham, that\'s what they want.
My plan was to bet him early and watch from living room downs. Looks like I need another plan..............
I wouldn\'t touch Hansen with a 10 foot pole. I\'m not buying the snake-oil the Doctor is selling. He\'s one of the very few confident tosses I have come up with in this Derby

Yeah, I agree and he\'s the horse most likely to jam the inside horses in the early part of the race, given there is good speed inside him to form a pack that edges to the rail in the early part of the race. This is what Mike Smith HAS to be watching in the first hundred yards. Do we really think he will wrap up and move towards the rail to sit behind the others? Really? Mikey?
Ditto.
OK, let\'s put ourselves in Mikey\'s saddle. What would you do. You know Trinni is never getting the 10F so let him go, right?. You don\'t want to fight with Hansen either and you hope he goes with Trinni. So you need a target. Borail. That means you get a rail trip and that aint where Bode likes to run. He wants to be outside horses. So following Borail is not what we want either. So we gotta send and hope to get outside Trinni and Hansen, clearing 13 other horses. That means we have to use up our horse early to get position - and that can\'t be good. Gemologist, El Pad and IHA are all going to be sent to get position. So Bode has to clear at least those 3.
The owner is more rank than the horse.

Your post is dead on in why I think Bode is in serious trouble here. Just a lot of things that can go wrong with the race shapes. He really drew badly.

he looked more like a Great White Shark than a Great White Hope.....i hope that pony is okay.
IM SCREWED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He\'s totally washed out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
banging my head against the wall and they aint even in the gate.
Good thing I stocked up on proper meds...................
Or, if the track is playing well for speed and, as Jerry Bailey said \"fast but not tiring\" I\'ll send him in the 2 path and hope for the best...............
