Title: Wagering
Post by: jalt2 on April 30, 2012, 05:04:57 PM
I have used Thorograph on and off but just started dedicating myself to the thorograph sheets. I find the numbers very useful and I\'m learning a lot from ROTW and the posts on this board. There are a lot of very knowledgable people on this board an im curious how people attack the races. Multi race bets, trifectas, etc. Over the years I have preferred spreading in Multi race bets. Using the Thorograph I generally find myself only liking a few horses per race. I\'m looking for some guidance from Thorograph veterans on how they play. I\'m thinking win bets and loading up on pick 3/4\'s. I play anywhere from 100-500 a race if thatt helps anyone frame their response. Thanks in advance and sorry for the rambling.

Jeff,

Just wondering if you have been to the Archives on this site. Some good stuff in there, including a very straightforward wagering guide:

http://www.thorograph.com/archive/betting%20guidelines.html

I keep a copy of it in my wallet for those times when things aren\'t going well at the track and I\'m about to go on \"tilt\". Very helpful to regain focus.

I added another line to it at the bottom:

\"Need more money, where is ATM?\"   |    \"Go home, ain\'t happening today\"

Good luck to you.

I try ,as much as possible, for my wagers to support what I think the outcome of the race will be,so that if I\'m right I get paid.So many tmes I\'ve handicapped a race pretty good only to mess it up with crummy betting.Example would be had the winner and lost money on the race.Something I found that has helped me over the years is,actually, writing my bets down.I know you\'re looking for specific wagering strategy, but I thought this might be helpful as well.--Jett
