Title: Forest Music
Post by: sheba87 on October 21, 2003, 08:01:53 PM
What do people make of her debut race?

I won\'t say the number, but it was an incredible effort for a first time 2yo filly.

I watched the race a number of times and was very, very, impressed visually by her performance.

However, I am having a hard time imagining her repeating that performance in the BC off a maiden win.

What are some other opinions?

She came back with sore shins, but Shuman pooh poohed it.

Her debut number may be the fastest ever, with the short rest, she\'s going to bounce, but how much? She\'s 4pts faster than everyone else in the race,  buuuuut.........

With the huge class hike, short rest, 1st attempt at a route and likely big bounce I\'d need 30-1+ to use anywhere on the ticket. Ordinarily I might take a shot, but far too many negatives, especially Saturday.

I would not bet a filly off one maiden race going into the \"BC\" trying 2 turns, a distance a ground, quality horses etc.. for the first time.

But here\'s another insight. She\'s so darn fast than anyone that tries to run with or prompt her early will have their chances compromised.
