Title: Dullahan
Post by: justwin on April 25, 2012, 10:56:36 AM
I like the way this race is going to setup for Dullahan & I don\'t have any dirt worries. I thought he ran well in the juvy.  I like the forward move in his last even if its 3 pts as he is lightly raced this year as well as his first start this year. My worry is that he has already progressed 5 1/2 pts from last year and may not have much left to improve. AK was able to progress 8 pts with his Derby win but would like to know what everyone thinks about his sheet.

Kent wins Derbies.

Great thing about Dullahan is you won\'t be \'done\' on the backstretch because of getting in a 22 flat speed duel. You\'ll have your \'shot\' turning for home.

Posted on Dullahan before the Bluegrass.

If you have his sheet look at his two siblings and their improvement from 2 to 3.Doesn\'t mean he has to but it\'s worth noting.

In reviewing the sheet in Dullahan I noted he Thoro-Pattern was listed as        Pr - T - T but from the Futurity to the Juvenille last year he went from a 6 to a 9, so shouldn\'t his pattern be O - T - T.

I get what you\'re saying about race setup, but I\'ve been burnt too many times by deep closers in the Derby.  They\'re great bets to fill out the super, but not to win.  Too much has to go right.  The Blue Grass is a good example.  Kent D admitted that a hole opened up at the perfect time for him to get through, and he won by a length and a half.  Now he\'s got to do it against 7 more, and better, horses.

How much better was Ice Box than Super Saver on that day?  Still not good enough.  I can\'t play him on top of this field at 8-1.

A lot of similarities to Animal Kingdom and Paddy O\'Prado with the latter coming off 3 preps instead.

In addition, FWIW, for all you oldtimers, he\'s the only horse in the race with a DI above 4
