Since nobody else has posted any opinions, I\'ll give it a whirl.
I think the key is the 8th race, The Rushaway. There\'s an obvious toss, ML favorite Flashy Dresser. The inside looks like the place to be today, and he\'s starting on the far outside. However, the main reason for the toss, even though his # in his debut was faster than anything else except Gold Megillah\'s aberrant slop number last year at CD, is his sire\'s dreadful synthetic numbers. Sire is 1 for 39 on synthetics. That combined with the outside post, 1st time route and more experienced runners has me very interested in this race. If Casse has #5 Bluedacious ready, I think projecting his 2yo #s to 3yo improvement puts him there. My only concern is that he might get a wide trip when inside is the place to be today. With that in mind, my biggest fear is that Rosie will gun Sky Alert to the lead and never look back. My plan is to hope Junior Alvarado recognizes the inside is the place to be and gets Bluedacious clear on the inside to try to run down Sky Alert. even though Gung Ho has been working great, I think the weight & outside post does him in.
For the rest of the stakes, I don\'t see much other than chalk, but because I like 2 longshots in the 8th, I\'ll be playing DDs, P3s and P4s with my two price horses in the 8th.
thanks for posting, thought I was lone wolf betting today. I don\'t think it\'s chalky due to the # of good figs that have not raced on synthetic, although the Giant\'s Causeway that paired 5\'s in his first two looks quite tough. I bet the pik 4 for the stakes portion as follows:
3,5,6,7,10,WT,2,4,5,7,WT,3,4,7,WT,3,7
Always have to take Maker\'s horses there if the figs are close, and I think the Thomas Jefferson in the first leg - although slower on paper - is going to improve enough to be a player. It\'s worth noting that Castellan is doing better with Pletcher than JV. I\'m with you on flashy dresser - complete toss.
I picked Dixie in the Bourbonette before Roger did on the radio, so I\'m all in with the fav as well in third leg. If you think the rail is the place to be, you should include Russian Greek in last leg. I was a bit high on the $$, so I dropped him off.
I like Hogy in the 7th. I thought he was going to be a short price, but the DDs are indicating he\'s going to be around 4-1. That gives me a decent chance if I\'m right on the 8th. I can\'t get past In Lingerie in the 9th. The Spiral is a tough one, I\'m using Heavy Breathing to complete my P4s only because I can\'t find anything I have any confidence in and he\'s an upgrade on the TGI dirt to synthetic #s and if he improves on the dirt numbers he\'ll be tough to beat.
Nice call on the 9...now, do I go back in for the pik 3? A question I ask myself quite a bit lately...
Good luck with the rest of the card.
Thanks. Good luck to you too.
Rosie is a disaster on synths, holy cow. Forgot how bad that Keeneland tour went for her last year.
I think you must use Dixie Jackpot in this 9th.
I going heavy on Ill Conceived in the Spiral. Also using Holiday Promise.
