The drop-down for Da Vinci in today\'s fifth at AQU is the strangest I have ever seen in my horseplaying lifetime.. newly turned 3 year old $600K AP Indy colt with only three starts (one win and two races with some excuses) drops into a 35K claimer for Pletcher. There should be 30 claims put in for this one if he goes..
Speaking of claiming - does it seem to anyone else like there\'s been a lot of claiming activity this year? There were 15 horses claimed at GP, yesterday alone.

It has to be the highest levels ever at NYRA. Purses are so high at the claiming levels that some horses are getting claimed every one or two races they run..
Everyone on claiming bandwagon for NY racing.NY purses off the charts going forward esp for next Belmont and Saratoga meets and future. With trouble in NJ Racing and even Kentucky somewhat(little/no slot subsidy)Clueless Clowns at NYRA inherit monsterous business edge.
Delusional NYRA brass/board members walking around with chest out as if they had something to do with enormous windfall benefits that should accrue to NY Racing, totally resulting from slot subsidy.
Purses for garbage winter stock, esp NYB Maiden claimers a travesty as money could be much better spent elsewhere.
STILL waiting for Clueless NYRA Clowns to do something for the players with some meaningful attempt at reduced takeout. There are MANY other player friendly improvements which were put on the backburner for lack of funds.Whats the excuse now?

Funny how this runner went from 1-5 to 1-2 last flash and won. Seems like you can get a premium on horses that \'appear\' to have \'something wrong with them\'. Most of the time, these massive droppers win and pay 3.20 when they should pay 2.20.
If you think 1-2 or 3-5 can provide \'value\' these are the types you want to play.

Have to agree. Millions in purses, and so far, not two cents for the folks that grease the wheel.
Unless you can get players to absolute stop betting (lets see how well the rebate guys do betting against themselves for a month) and force them to lower the confiscatory takeout , nothing will change. They take us for suckers.
Rebate guys? I didnt realize NYRA permitted rebate tracks to carry their signal.
Box,
Until players organize(way beyond HANA) and withhold handle from the smug Clueless Clowns at NYRA,little will change in favor of the players.
In the spirit of fairness,NYRA is putting on Caribbean Day tomorrow at Aqueduct. Get there early, parking lots will be full!

Been waiting 4 decades for horseplayers to wise up and demand better.
Good thing I didn\'t hold my breath.
